happy thanksgiving, elephants

We missed everyone on Thanksgiving! Hope you all had a good holiday, including some yummy turkey. Turkeys are bad luck in Thailand, and they don't raise/eat them. In fact, I haven't seen a single turkey in SE Asia :( We had curry for tgiving dinner.

We also wanted to give a quick update on our travels. Just spoke with our security service, and they think the aiport will re-open by the time we fly out (12/18), but to check back with them in 3-4 days. We're headed to Lampang tomorrow for a 3-day visit to an elephant conservatory. We get to bathe and feed them, as well as learn about their behavior. Once we're out of the jungle, we'll check on the protests and go from there.

Hi Amy and Joe,
That's funny to the turkeys here we are bad luck :)

Glad to hear you are not affected by the unrest and are looking foward to having fun with the elephants, which I might add I am super jealous, I sooo would love to chill with them, they seem so cool, big, and goofy! Just don't get pooped on, in my head i see a potential concussion if they get you in the head :) haha!

It was great to talk to you Amy, sorry we missed you Joe- I keep showing Madi your pics...

Also have a great time with Toma and Eric...hi by the way!

LOVE YOU!

We had a nice Thanksgiving but were thinking of you and everything going on in that part of the world. Krista'a cheerleading squad had a regional competition the day after Thanksgiving. They came in first (in their division) for the 7 mid-south states. She was very good. I hope you guys are having the times of your life.
Love,
Cindy
